Boston Partners, a US-based value equity specialist partly owned by Holland’s Robeco, has opened an office in London to build up its Ucits business.
Joshua Jones, a portfolio manager at the firm, will lead an investment team operating out of London, while William Pawson, a senior product specialist, will oversee distribution.
The London office will provide closer access for clients located in Europe and closer proximity to European companies for investment purposes, Boston Partners said.
The firm has $14 billion (€12.8 billion) in sub-advised Ucits assets under management, as well as $2.2 billion in separately managed accounts across nine Europe-based institutional clients.
Jones said clients sought better visibility to understand Boston Partners’ “investment edge”, which revolves around a “three-circle” approach to active management using valuation, fundamental quality and business momentum as key metrics.
Robeco, the Dutch asset manager bought a stake in Boston Partners in 2003.
The firm manages $90.6 billion, as of March 31.
