Axa Investment Managers has appointed Devan Chau as senior trader in its trading & securities financing (TSF) team based in Hong Kong.
Chau joins Axa IM from Hamon Investment Group, where she was a business manager and dealer based in Hong Kong.
Prior to that, Chau worked as senior dealer in the equity team at ING Investment Management in Hong Kong.
Axa IM’s Hong Kong traders will operate in tandem with the rest of the TSF group.
Nicola Egan heads trade execution for US and Asia equities. Lee Sanders heads trade execution for foreign exchange and fixed income. Both Egan and Sanders retain the capability to execute Asian orders during European market hours to optimise the trading options.
“This is an important step for us and demonstrates our continued commitment to the Asian market and continued ambitions for strengthening the global TSF team at Axa IM,” says Paul Squires, global head of TSF.
Laurent Bilard, head of TSF Asia, says the ability for select portfolio managers to be able to execute Asian offers outside of Hong Kong will be a significant benefit for clients.
