Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva plc, has expanded its global fixed income team with two appointments, effective today.
Anna Chong has joined as sector lead, and Michalis Ditsas will take on the role of senior investment director. Both will be based in London.
Chong will report to Gita Bal, head of fixed income research, and will lead the resources, industrials and infrastructure hub within the research team, besides overseeing Aviva Investors’ Fixed Income Early Careers programme. She has joined from Federated Hermes, where she was head of corporate credit research, having previously worked at J.P. Morgan.
Bridging the fixed income-tech gap
Her appointment brings the number of sector leads in the newly restructured Fixed Income research team to four. The changes are part of a broader transformation led by Fraser Lundie, Global Head of Fixed Income, and Bal, aimed at “fostering a more collaborative and globally connected research culture”. This includes embedding technology more deeply into processes to enhance both the quality and agility of investment insights.
Ditsas will report to Shane O’Brien, head of investment specialists. With over two decades of experience as a fixed income investment specialist and Director, he has held roles at J.P. Morgan, AllianceBernstein and most recently Federated Hermes.
Fraser Lundie, global head of fixed income at Aviva Investors, commented: “We’re thrilled to welcome Anna and Michalis to the team. I can confidently say they bring a wealth of expertise and insight that will be invaluable to our existing fixed income business. Their appointments mark another important step in our journey this year, as we continue to strengthen our capabilities with high-calibre talent. We’ve already seen the positive impact of recent additions, and I have no doubt Anna and Michalis will contribute meaningfully from day one.”
