London-based Aviva Investors has added to its US equities team with three hires as part of the firm’s efforts to expand its equities capabilities.
Robert Plaza joins as portfolio manager from Key Private Bank, where he was director of equity research, while Nick Nikitas and Adam Schmitz join as equity analysts from Robert W. Baird and Harris Associates, respectively. They are all newly-created roles.
Based in Chicago, they will report to Susan Schmidt, head of US equities at Aviva Investors.
Their roles will revolve around overseeing UK, US, global, and emerging markets equities. The firm has said that their appointments come at a time of “great opportunity” in the US equity market.
Latest Investment Association data shows that overall equities sales remain weak – specifically in Europe and Asia as ongoing trade tensions between the US and China take effect.
Aviva Investors also recently added to its research team with the appointment of LaCoursiere to head its global environmental, social, and governance research.
