Aviva Investors has appointed Paolo Sarno as head of wholesale for Southern Europe and the firm plans to add staff to its Italian operation.
Sarno was previously La Financiere de l’Echiquier’s Italy country head and launched the firm’s branch there.
The role is newly created and based in Milan where Sarno will work to grow Aviva Investors’ business across Southern Europe with a primary focus on Italy.
Aviva Investors has a Southern Europe client servicing team but plans to add further resources, said the firm.
Sarno reports to TJ Voskamp, global head of wholesale distribution, who said: “As one of the fastest growing mutual fund markets in Europe, Italy is a key focus of our European expansion.”
