Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) has appointed Robert McKillop to the newly created role of global head of product and client solutions.
The product and client solutions unit will operate globally and incorporate McKillop’s current responsibilities such as digital advice, product development and management, and product strategy solutions, as well as broader responsibilities for solutions, according to ASI.
A new client solutions group has been created to be led by Ian McDonald, who will report to McKillop.
Encompassing the existing outcome-based product strategy and strategic client solutions teams, this group will engage with clients on matters impacting their portfolios.
“We believe there is a significant opportunity in bringing together our collective expertise to understand the needs of clients, customers and advisors, as the trend towards more tailored and outcome orientated solutions continues,” said ASI’s chief investment officer Rod Harris.
McKillop was previously global head of product investment specialists for ASI. He joined Standard Life Investments in 1997, beginning his career as portfolio manager with the firm’s Japanese equity team.
