Allspring Global Investments has appointed Catherine McLaughlin as head of institutional sales for the UK and Ireland.
McLaughlin joins the $463 billion AUM firm from Allianz Global Investors, having spent over 20 years working for global asset managers, leading business development and sales strategy across Europe.
She will be responsible for expanding Allspring’s institutional distribution business and servicing a growing portfolio of clients.
Before joining Allspring, McLaughlin was a UK institutional sales director at Allianz Global Investors.
She has also held sales roles at State Street Global Advisors, Aon Hewitt and Irish Life Investment Managers.
In addition, McLaughlin has been a lecturer to bachelor of commerce students at Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya.
The appointment marks the latest shakeup in Allspring’s European sales line-up, with the firm recently poaching another senior sales figure from Allianz.
In August, the asset manager appointed Christian Pachtner as head of sales for German-speaking Europe.
He had spent 20 years at Allianz, heading up client services and chairing the firm’s global consultant relations group in that time.
