Asset manager Allianz Global Investors has appointed Kayvan Vahid as head of equity Europe core and value.
Vahid will be based in London and report to Jörg De Vries-Hippen, head of investments equity Europe at Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI).
Jörg De Vries-Hippen commented: “Vahid’s addition to the team will further strengthen our capabilities in European core and value investing, an area we know is of key importance to our clients.”
Virginie Maisonneuve, global CIO, equity, Allianz Global Investors, added: “Vahid brings an extensive understanding of European equities and value investing. Working closely with colleagues across the Equities platform, I am sure he will help unlock new opportunities for our clients.”
Earlier this year, AllianzGI’s equities team in London hired Giles Money as CIO of the global sustainability/SRI equity team. The firm also promoted Rajnish Kumar to the new role of head of investment technology and AI of its investment platform. Furthermore, it established a dedicated team of analysts specialising in US equities.
Vahid spent over 20 years at UBS Asset Management and was most recently the company’s deputy head of global value equity and head of European mid-cap equities in London, managing institutional and retail funds across global, European and UK equity mandates.
Before those positions, he was a portfolio manager for European small and mid-caps and European equities research analyst at UBS AM.
