Investment manager Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI) has announced the appointment of Johnnie Barnett to the newly created role of director of UK institutional business development.
Based in London, Barnett will help to manage and expand AllianzGI’s institutional client footprint in the UK, where the firm offers strategies across equities, fixed income and alternatives, as well as collaborative defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) pension solutions.
Barnett joins AllianzGI with ten years of industry experience. Most recently he spent over three years as business development director within the institutional business at Northern Trust Asset Management.
In his role at Allianz GI, Barnett will report to Philip Dawes, head of UK institutional. Dawes says that the appointment will assist the firm in strengthening its reputation with UK institutional investors.
Allianz Global Investors has over €454 billion in assets under management, as at March 31, 2015.
