Axa Investment Managers’ former UK chief executive officer, Irshaad Ahmad, has joined Allianz Global Investors (AGI) as head of institutional business in Europe.
Ahmad was Axa Investment Managers’ UK chief executive for the past four years, leading retail and institutional sales, and client service teams.
Based in London, he will assume business development and client servicing responsibility for all AGI institutional clients in Europe from January 1, and help develop institutional business in certain regional markets.
Ahmad will report to Tobias C. Pross, regional head, and will chair the firm’s European institutional executive committee and be a member of the European Executive Committee.
AGI currently has €427 billion in assets under management.
