Manchester-based AJ Bell has appointed Jamie Ward as head of investment solutions as it looks to grow its investment business.
The company, which claims to “make it easy for our customers to save and invest by providing them with online tools and information to help them build and manage their portfolios”, operates in both the advised and direct-to-consumer segments of the platform market.
Ward joins from Crux Asset Management, where he managed the Crux UK Core Fund.
In his new role, he will be responsible for managing AJ Bell’s range of investment solutions, which includes its Managed Portfolios Service and range of multi-asset funds.
Kevin Doran, managing director at AJ Bell Investments, previously worked at Brown Shipley with Ward, who served as an equity analyst.
“He has a wealth of experience in running multi-asset portfolios and will play a key role in ensuring we continue to deliver a wide choice of investment solutions with low costs and clear communications,” said Doran.
Ward added: “This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth business which is absolutely focused on its purpose of helping people to invest.
“The range of investment solutions on offer from AJ Bell is already market leading and I’m looking forward to working with the team to help develop them further and deliver high quality solutions to advisers and customers.”
Prior to joining Crux Asset Management, Ward also worked as an equity analyst at Investec.
