The Alternative Investment Management Association (Aima) has named Simon Lorne, who is vice chairman of Millennium Management, as chairman. The trade body has also appointed four council members.
Lorne takes over as chairman from Kathleen Casey, a former commissioner of the Securities & Exchanges Commission, who held the Aima chair since September 2012.
Lorne will continue his duties at Millennium Management, which include chief legal officer.
Appointments to Aima’s council are: Robyn Grew, chief administrative officer at Man Group; Han Ming Ho, partner at Sidley Austin; Ryan Taylor, partner and global head of compliance at Brevan Howard Asset Management; and Michael Weinberg, senior managing director and chief investment strategist at Protégé Partners.
Eva Sanchez of Citadel Europe and Choo San Yeoh of Albourne Partners will be stepping down from the council.
The current council will sit until September 2018.
