London-based AEW has appointed Bianca Kraus as director of investor relations responsible for German-speaking clients.
Based in Munich, Kraus will sit within the international investor relations team. Her key responsibilities will include building and managing relationships with institutional investors in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
A native German speaker, she will also give support to capital raising activities across Europe, promoting AEW’s global suite of products, as well as being directly involved in new product development programmes.
Kraus comes with a wealth of experience, having worked in the real estate industry for over 20 years, focusing on institutional funds. She joins AEW from BNP Paribas REIM where she was head of customer and fund relations.
AEW has said that it has seen strong growth in its German platform in recent years, with €3.2 billion of assets under management (AuM) and 44 institutional clients at the end of last year.
“Germany is a key market for us, being both a major source of capital and an important location for our investment and asset management activity,” said AEW’s European CEO Rob Wilkinson.
According to Wilkinson, AEW has “invested significantly” into its German operations, adding that Kraus’ appointment is “another step in that strategy”.
Representing the real estate asset management platform of Natixis Investment Managers, AEW is one of the world’s largest real estate asset managers. The firm had a total of €65.4 billion of AuM as at 31 December 2018.
