Regulatory compliance consultancy ACA Group has appointed Patrick Olson to serve as chief executive officer and member of the board of directors.
Olson will replace Shvetank Shank, who has served in the role since January 2020 and is moving into a new position of senior advisor.
Olson brings 30 years of experience in financial services, investment banking, and asset management.
He joins the firm from BlackRock, where he most recently served as global chief product officer.
During his 17-year career with the firm, he held several leadership positions, including chief operating officer of EMEA, global head of strategy and global head of corporate development.
In his new role, Olson will be responsible for driving growth and innovation for ACA Group, which is a subsidiary of private equity firm Genstar Capital.
The appointment strengthens the firm’s strategy to provide governance, risk, and compliance solutions during a period of increased regulatory scrutiny and heightened compliance needs.
Olson’s appointment is the firm’s latest hire since Marie Luchet was named managing director of ESG for ACA Group in June.
