Six BNP Paribas Asset Management fixed income specialists have left the firm to join Neuberger Berman.
The six investment professionals are based in Paris and Neuberger said the team would enhance its European fixed income capabilities and that it planned to launch new funds.
The team consists of five portfolio managers and one quantitative analyst and is led by Patrick Barbe (pictured), who was BNP Paribas AM’s chief investment officer of euro sovereign and aggregate fixed income. While there, he was responsible for the management of about €49 billion in assets.
The portfolio managers are Yanick Loirat, Vito Cavaliere, Antonio Serpico, and Sergejs Prala, and the quantitative analyst is Leang You Tran.
Four of the portfolio managers have worked closely together for over seven years.
Neuberger, whose global fixed income platform manages $133 billion in assets, said it intended to launch a number of European fixed income funds and strategies in the coming months.
