UniCredit has appointed Tom Currie and Florian Sommer as co-heads of its international financial sponsor solutions team based in London.
Currie and Sommer have served at UniCredit for a combined 26 years, supporting private equity clients in key European markets such as the UK, Spain, France, Benelux and the Nordics.
The pair previously reported to David Vials, but have now succeeded him. Vials will assume the newly-created role of UniCredit’s head of corporate coverage UK.
The international financial sponsor solutions team provides corporate and investment banking services to private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, including lending, leveraged loan financing, advice, hedging and corporate banking.
In 2015, UniCredit was the third largest bookrunner for leveraged loans to private equity clients in Europe, the second largest by transaction volume, according to financial analytics firm Dealogic.
