Exchange-traded fund (ETF) provider Invesco PowerShares has made two appointments to its capital markets team, including Vanguard Asset Management’s head of ETF capital markets for Europe, the Middle East and Asia (Emea), Jim Goldie.
Goldie (pictured) will be responsible for managing the group’s Emea capital markets team and driving its strategy, as well as maintaining connections with market makers and stock exchanges throughout the region.
Prior to his role at Vanguard, he held positions at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.
Michael Delew will also be joining as a research analyst. He moves from the firm’s US office, where he has worked for five years.
Last year, the firm’s report ‘The Emergence of a New Era in Index Investing’ found 69% of existing index investors expect to increase their allocations within the next three years.
The hires are the latest in a string of high profile scoops for the firm this year to date. Earlier in March, the firm landed Deutsche Asset Management’s Emea head of marketing Henning Stein. Last month, Invesco appointed influential fund selector Mark Dampier, head of investment research at UK financial adviser Hargreaves Lansdown, to the board of the Invesco Income Growth trust.
Invesco Powershares manages assets of around $100 billion (€90 billion).
