Richard Pereira has joined Standard Life Investments (SLI) in a newly created insurance asset management position.
Pereira (pictured), who is an investment actuary, joins as investment director within SLI’s insurance solutions team, which the firm aims to grow around the world.
He was previously at JP Morgan as an executive director in the bank’s insurance and pensions business, responsible for advising institutional clients on investment strategy, investment and risk solutions and managing insurance assets under Solvency II.
Based in London, Pereira reports to Stephen Acheson, executive director, global strategic partnerships.
The expansion of SLI’s insurance business is the latest sign of how asset managers are ramping up their insurance capability.
