HSBC Asset Management has appointed Karim Ghannam as Global Head of Real Assets and Head of Alternatives.
Bringing over 25 years’ experience, Ghannam will be responsible for the strategic development and management of HSBC AM’s real assets proposition which is made up of a suite of listed, direct and indirect real asset investment strategies.
He joins HSBC AM from 8F Asset Management, an impact-focused private equity fund manager which he co-founded in 2016 and was most recently Chief Investment Officer. Prior to that, Karim held a number of leadership roles in alternatives and private markets at global firms including Deutsche Bank and Argan Capital.

Ghannam will join HSBC AM on 8 August 2025 and will report into Joanna Munro.
