AJ Bell, an online investment platform in the UK, has appointed Ian Aylward as the head of investment partnerships to strengthen its Managed Portfolio Service (MPS) for adviser clients.
AJ Bell’s bespoke MPS service allows the investments team to create and manage tailored portfolios that meet the specific needs of adviser firms and their clients. According to the platform, Aylward’s appointment is a strategy to provide the service with dedicated support, positioning it to grow alongside the rising demand for personalised portfolio solutions.
Aylward joined AJ Bell with over 25 years of experience in wealth management. Most recently, he spent seven years at Barclays Private Bank and Wealth Management, where he led manager selection and drove responsible investing initiatives.
AJ Bell recently reported assets under management of £6.8 billion, increasing by 45% in the year leading up to September 30, 2024. Ryan Hughes, managing director at AJ Bell Investments, said: “Ian has forged a fantastic career in multi-asset fund solutions, building an excellent reputation, and we are incredibly excited that he’s joined the team. With over 25 years of experience, he will help us build on the momentum that saw our assets under management hit £6.8 billion in September as we continue to deliver strong returns and outstanding service for customers across our funds and MPS.”
“I am delighted to be joining AJ Bell and its Investments team at a time of such exciting growth,” Aylward commented. “I look forward to applying my breadth of skills and experience to further build on the already outstanding track record for clients.”
