Luxembourg-headquartered asset manager Candriam has launched an ESG equities fund designed to offer investors sustainably aligned, diversified and uncorrelated returns by investing in liquid stocks across global developed markets.
The fund will invest long in companies regarded as leaders in sustainability and will short those identified by Candriam as less sustainable.
According to a statement, the fund’s investment philosophy is based on the belief that financially sound companies adhering to robust ESG standards are positioned for long-term value creation, while companies with weak financial fundamentals that neglect ESG principles are likely to decrease in value.
Part of Candriam’s Alternative Investment platform, the fund will be managed by Bart Goosens and Dave Benichou.
The fund is available for distribution in Luxembourg, Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the UK and the Netherlands.
