Fidelity International has expanded its offering with the launch of five new Irish-domiciled ETFs.
The ETFs track Fidelity Thematic Indexes, which are designed to reflect the performance of stocks most relevant to a specific theme while considering sustainability.
The five themes tracked in the ETF range are clean energy (Fidelity Clean Energy UCITS ETF), electric vehicles and future transportation (Fidelity Electric Vehicles and Future Transportation UCITS ETF), cloud computing (Fidelity Cloud Computing UCITS ETF), digital health (Fidelity Digital Health UCITS ETF) and the metaverse (Fidelity Metaverse UCITS ETF).
All are Article 8 aligned under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), with a minimum of 50% of the index constituents deemed to maintain sustainable characteristics.
Nick King, head of ETFs at Fidelity International, said: “Thematic investing seeks to identify and capitalise on long-term, structural trends by investing across countries and sectors to capture transformative drivers of the global economy, businesses and society. Many of these themes have an enhanced focus on sustainability as well as seeking to address specific social and environmental challenges.”
The ETFs commenced trading on Monday, 5 September, on London Stock Exchange, Deutsche Börse Xetra and SIX Swiss Exchange. Listing on Borsa Italiana is intended to follow later in September.
Fidelity’s active ETF range now encompasses 17 differentiated solutions from Income, Sustainable Equity, Sustainable Fixed Income and Thematic.
Fidelity Clean Energy ESG Tilted Index is designed to reflect the performance of a global universe of companies that distribute, produce or provide technology or equipment to support the production of energy from solar, wind, hydrogen and other renewable sources.
Fidelity Electric Vehicles and Future Transportation ESG Tilted Index tracks the performance of companies engaged in the production of electric and or autonomous vehicles and their components, technology, or energy systems or engaged in other initiatives that aim to change the future of transportation.
Fidelity Cloud Computing ESG Tilted Index seeks to replicate the performance of companies that provide products or services, enabling the increased adoption of cloud computing.
Fidelity Digital Health ESG Tilted Index is designed to reflect the performance of companies providing healthcare records management, connected healthcare devices, surgical robotics, telemedicine, and other technology-enabled healthcare products and services.
Fidelity Metaverse ESG Tilted Index is designed to track companies that develop, manufacture, distribute, and sell products or services related to a future state of the internet characterised by a network of both augmented reality and virtual worlds that can be experienced persistently and in a shared environment by large numbers of users.
