ETF provider WisdomTree has entered the cybersecurity space with the launch of a fund focusing on themes such as privacy and cloud security.
The firm has partnered with cybersecurity, data and fintech business Team8 to identify “cyber-relevant” companies and cybersecurity development themes.
The WisdomTree Cybersecurity Ucits ETF will track a basket of cybersecurity companies said to be at the forefront of the industry, using the WisdomTree Team8 Cybersecurity Index.
Chris Gannatti, head of European research at WisdomTree, said: “Demand for protection against cyber-threats will increase as industries convert to online trading, more money changes hands electronically, more people do more work remotely, more home devices and previously personal items become connected, and as business and personal data and processing shifts increasingly to the cloud.”
Listed on the London Stock Exchange, Borsa Italiana and Börse Xetra, the ETF has an expense ration of 0.45%.
