A trio of active equity funds based on environmental and social themes has been unveiled by BNY Mellon Investment Management, further underlining what is likely to be a year of multiple ESG-themed fund launches.
The ‘Future’ fund range comprises three strategies – Future Earth, Future Food and Future Life. Each fund is designed to invest in firms set to benefit from, respectively, natural resource pressure, changes in food production and increased consumer demand due to ageing populations.
The funds will be managed by Newton Investment Management and are available to institutional, intermediary and retail investors.
“Disruptive change is happening at a record pace across all elements of our lives,” said Newton’s chief investment officer Curt Custard.
“We believe that by identifying those changes early and investing in them over the long-term we can capitalise on these structural drivers of growth for our clients.”
