Three private equity firms are among a series of backers to sponsor diversity group Black Women in Asset Management (BWAM).
The most well-known is Blackstone, which has $584 billion (€478 billion) of assets under management. The firm’s sponsorship, together with that of other backers, will enable BWAM to offer more leadership training and other opportunities to black women in the industry.
The other two private investment managers are Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, which has offices in London and New York, and Livingbridge, which has business in London, the US and Australia.
Along with these firms, the other businesses backing BWAM are recruiter Barrington Hibbert Associates and lawyers Goodwin Proctor and Latham & Watkins.
BWAM’s existing sponsor is TowerBrook Capital Partners.
BWAM chair and co-founder Jacqueline Taiwo (pictured) said: “Their support will accelerate BWAM’s impact in 2021, allowing the organisation to bring in new resources, as we offer members more career development and leadership training opportunities. We also look forward to expanding our existing outreach initiatives to encourage more young Black women to pursue careers in investment.”
