Tim Wood has been appointed as the head of HSBC Securities Services (HSBC SS) in the UK, a newly created role.
Wood is currently managing director, business management, at RBC Investor & Treasury Services, and he will join HSBC SS on March 28, according to an internal memo at the firm.
HSBC SS is the custody and asset servicing arm of the HSBC bank.
In his new role Wood will take over responsibility for developing and executing strategy in the UK and will report to Rafael Moral Santiago, head of the European securities services business.
Wood has over 30 years of relevant industry experience and has been at RBC Investor & Treasury Services since 2002. He held a number of senior positions there, including head of network management.
