Paris-based La Francaise Investment Solutions saw its assets under management grow by 140% last year, driven partly by international investors.
Assets under management reached $6 billion (€5.6 billion) at the end of last year, with inflows into La Francaise’s premia and solutions funds the primary contributors, according to the firm.
Over the last year, 75% of inflows into La Francaise’s alternative strategies came from outside France, including from investors across Europe and, for the first time, Asia. The firm is hoping for more international interest in its products with a particular focus on the North American market.
Assets into its premia strategy totaled more than $1 billion, an increase of four times over the 2015 year-end total. The strategy’s factor-based approach and focus on diversification and de-correlation continued to deliver throughout a difficult 2016, “generating strong inflows from investors worldwide”, said the firm.
La Francaise also saw strong growth in its dedicated funds business, with assets under management increasing to $4 billion.
The firm’s medium-term aim is to grow to $10 million in assets under management. To achieve this, it plans to launch a long volatility strategy targeting institutional investors and also a “next generation” risk parity fund for the wealth manager and retail segments.
