Crosslane Fund Managers, a Manchester-based division of Crosslane Group, has appointed Matthew Ryall to the newly created role of chief executive officer.
Crosslane Fund Managers specialises in investment in the European student accommodation market and Ryall has been appointed to lead the group in attracting institutional equity into the sector.
Specialising in real estate, Ryall has over 20 years industry experience. He has spent the last six years working in Germany, where he was the head of global indirect investment at Allianz Real Estate.
Prior to this, Ryall worked as a real estate fund manager at Blackrock and a director of research and strategy at LaSalle Investment Management. He has been a member of the management board of Inrev, the European Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate, since April 2011.
Crosslane Fund Managers made its first investment in student accommodation in 2008 and launched its first fund in 2010, followed by a specialised pan-European student accommodation fund in 2013.
