Capital Group has hired Alvaro Fernández Arrieta, head of sales in the global clients group at Amundi Asset Management, as business development manager.
Fernández Arrieta’s hire comes ahead of Capital Group’s planned expansion in Madrid. In a newly created role, he will work with Mario Gonzalez, business development manager, who will move from London to Madrid once the office is opened.
Fernández Arrieta has more than two decades of experience in the funds industry, having previously worked for Calyon Banca Privada, Santander Asset Management and Banco Central Hispano.
Spain has experienced a challenging period economically, says Fernández Arrieta, with investors more focused than ever on their financial future and investing for long-term security.
Amundi asset management was not immediately available to comment on who will replace Fernández Arrieta.
