Schroders has hired Alex Tedder from American Century Investments as its head of global equities, starting in June.
As co-head of global and non-US large cap strategies, Tedder managed $21 billion (€15 billion) of assets at American Century. At Schroders, he will take over business management and strategic planning for the global and international equities team from Peter Harrison and work alongside Simon Webber.
“Global equities is a priority growth area for Schroders,” says Harrison. “Together, Alex and Simon will drive our existing strong business forward and make it world class, enhancing our portfolio construction process and delivering performance for clients over the long term.”
Prior to joining American Century in 2006, Tedder worked for Deutsche Asset Management for 12 years, including as head of international equities. He has worked for Schroders before, promoting European equity mandates alongside the firm’s private equity operation prior to his stint at Deutsche.
Schroders had £263 billion (€319 billion) under management at the end of 2013.
