Manulife Asset Management is expanding its institutional sales network with two new hires.
James Chen is now head of institutional business and relationship management, international. Previously, he was responsible for Asia.
James Wheeler was hired as head of institutional sales, Europe and Middle East. He joins from Legal & General Investment Management in London, where he was senior client sales and relationship manager and focused on European clients. Wheeler has relocated to Hong Kong.
This year, the asset manager added new investment teams to cover global equities, emerging markets debt and US small-cap equities. Last year, it expanded the company’s portfolio solutions group, a global team of asset allocation experts, into Asia.
Manulife Asset Management is the asset management arm of the Manulife Financial Corporation, a Canadian insurance and financial service provider with headquarters in Toronto, and has $258 billion (€190.9 billion) of assets under management.
