Alliance Trust Asset Management is to launch a Global Thematic Opportunities fund at the end of the month, the first product from their recently formed London-based global equities team.
Ilario Di Bon, the head of global equities, and Juergen Lanzer, a senior investment manager, will be responsible for the fund.
An unconstrained global equity product, the fund will invest in both developed and emerging markets, and will implement a bottom-up approach with a thematic overlay.
Di Bon and Lanzer will select about 50 holdings on a three to five year investment cycle.
Alliance Trust says some of the themes of the fund include emerging middle class healthcare spending, changing Asian consumption, sustainable transportation, energy efficiency and agricultural productivity.
