Standard Life Investments’ UK Equity Recovery Fund has returned 150% since launch on 6th March 2009, the firm said last week.
Launched during the worst fall in equity markets since 1974 the fund was designed to give investors, particularly those willing to take on a higher degree of sector and stock risk, the opportunity to capitalise on the low stock valuations and negative investment sentiment.
Fund manager David Cumming, head of UK equities at the firm, said: “In my view, despite the recent rally, the UK equity market remains attractively valued compared to most asset classes and will continue to rally over the course of 2011 driven by ongoing global recovery, and consequently, strong profits and dividend growth.”
