Pat Lardner will step down as the chief executive of the Irish Funds Industry Association (Irish Funds), the representative body for the international investment fund community in Ireland.
The process to appoint Pat’s successor is underway, according to the board. Lardner will remain in his role until the end of the year to support the transition.
Andrea Kelly, chair of Irish Funds, said: “Pat has played a defining role in strengthening Irish Funds and raising the profile and influence of Ireland’s funds and asset management industry, both nationally and internationally. He leaves the association with strong foundations, an experienced team and a strategic direction for the future, and the association’s work on behalf of members will continue uninterrupted throughout this period.”
Lardner said: “It has been a privilege to lead Irish Funds and to work alongside our members, board, council and dedicated team over the past 14 years. Together, we have helped strengthen Ireland’s position as one of the world’s leading centres for funds and asset management while ensuring the industry continues to make a contribution to Ireland’s economy and international reputation.
Irish Funds is a strong and respected organisation with a talented team and an engaged membership. I remain committed to supporting the association, our members and my successor to ensure a smooth transition and to maintaining momentum on our strategic priorities over the coming months. I look forward to spending some time with my family and pursuing other interests before considering the next chapter of my career.”
