M&G Investments has secured an additional €830m mandate from Dutch investment solutions provider ABN Amro Investment Solutions, expanding an existing global emerging markets equity mandate.
The move comes as investors look to diversify beyond US equities, where valuations remain high, the asset manager said. Emerging markets are viewed as offering structural opportunities, supported by attractive valuations, solid fundamentals, a weaker US dollar and broad opportunities across regions and sectors.
M&G, part of savings and investment group M&G plc, will continue managing the mandate using its global emerging markets investment approach. The strategy focuses on identifying high-quality companies through fundamental research, with a strong emphasis on return on capital and valuation discipline to deliver long-term returns.
M&G’s global emerging markets strategy aligns with Article 8 criteria under the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation combining an exclusion framework, a positive ESG tilt and responsible investment practices throughout research and portfolio construction. Often referred to as “light green” funds, this category of funds promotes environmental and social characteristics but does not have sustainability as its core objective.
