Investment manager Neuberger Berman has unveiled its Neuberger Berman Climate Innovation Fund, aiming to capitalise on climate innovation enablers and beneficiaries.
The fund, designated Article 8 under the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), will use the MSCI All-Country World Index (ACWI) as its benchmark.
To oversee the fund, New York-based portfolio managers Evelyn Chow and Charlie Lim, with a two-year strategy track record, will be at the helm. They will be supported by Neuberger Berman's global equity research team and the firm's ESG specialists.
A feature of this fund is its approach to capturing alpha by investing across the climate technology maturity curve. It is planned to diversify with 30–60 global equity holdings.
The initiative reflects Neuberger Berman's commitment to blending rigorous fundamental analysis with recognised leadership in ESG investing, further expanding their thematic equity portfolio, said the investment manager.
Sarah Peasey, head of Europe ESG Investing at Neuberger Berman, states: "As technology and policy converge to support climate innovation, we believe this theme offers compelling opportunities for investors by directing capital to companies developing the most effective technologies whilst also allowing them to participate in a more sustainable society."
