David Pagliaro has been appointed regional head of State Street’s data and analytics business.
Pagliaro takes over State Street Global Exchange (SSGE) in Europe, Middle East and Africa (Emea) from JR Lowry, who is returning to Boston in July to lead SSGE’s North American business and the innovation and advisory solutions team.
Pagliaro joins from S&P Capital where he was most recently global head of S&P credit solutions. Previously he was global head of corporate and commercial lending at the firm; and before that, Emea senior director for fixed income solutions.
Based in London, Pagliaro will report to John Plansky, global head of SSGE, and Liz Nolan, regional co-head of global services.
State Street launched the SSGE business four years ago. The business is the firm’s data and analytics arm and the launch was recognition of how finance is evolving to become data-led, said Plansky.
He said demand for SSGE’s services and data had rapidly increased, driven by factors including low return, the growth of passive investing, and regulation.
