AFG appoints chair and vice-chair

France’s national funds industry association, the AFG, has appointed Eric Pinon (left) as chair and Philippe Setbon as vice-chair.

Pinon is deputy chief executive of Acer Finance and has previously worked at stockbroker Michel Puget.

In 1989 he formed Europe Egide Finance and, from 1997 to 2003, served as AFG’s vice-chair.

Since 2013 he has chaired AFG’s entrepreneurial asset management firms committee.

Setbon started his career in 1990 as a financial analyst at Barclays Bank in Paris and has since worked at Azur Group, Boissy Gestion, Rothschild’s, Generali Group.

“The AFG will be, tomorrow even more than today, ready to meet the numerous challenges encountered by our activity,” said Pinon.

“In order to give asset management its rightful place, we have to act resolutely for the education of the investors and strengthen the synergy between all the actors to increase our international competitiveness”.
