Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS), a firm that helps investors with corporate governance issues such as shareholder voting, has partnered up with a provider of reputational risk management tools.
It is intended that the partnership with RepRisk will help investors better manage reputational, compliance, and investment risks associated with the area of environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing.
RepRisk provides risk analytics and metrics to clients that want ESG solutions.
The partnership means ISS can now offer clients, including asset owners and investment managers, access to RepRisk’s suite of services. These include RepRisk’s Asset Management Platform, Data Feed, and Monitoring Report.
The firms say the tools can be used to monitor portfolio companies’ activities for purposes of investment analysis, engagement, or exclusion.
The partnership will also facilitate compliance with various ESG investing stewardship guidelines, such as those issued under the auspices of the United Nations and known as UN PRI, says Harvey.
“We welcome the opportunity to partner with ISS and provide its clients deep insight into ESG-related risks not always visible through traditional avenues of public company mandated disclosures,” says RepRisk ‘s chief executive officer, Philipp Aeby.
