Jupiter promotes “talented” analyst Dermot Murphy

Dermot Murphy

Jupiter, a London-based asset manager, has appointed Dermot Murphy (pictured) as assistant fund manager to Ben Whitmore, who manages the firm’s UK value-orientated strategies.

Murphy has worked as an equities analyst supporting the Jupiter UK Special Situations Fund and the Jupiter Income Trust for the past two years since joining the firm from Fidelity.

Portfolio construction and client communication are part of Murphy’s role, as well as continuing to analyse stocks for the portfolios he manages, including the Special Situations fund and a number of segregated mandates.

Stephen Pearson, chief investment officer at Jupiter, said Murphy has proved himself as a talented analyst.

Jupiter recently reported a 4% rise in assets under management, year on year.
